About me

I am a poet and a performer from London. Some of my poems were born for the stage, others are too shy. I am interested in playing with the distinction between spoken word and page poetry, and am always looking for new ways to bring the performing arts into poetry. I have performed my poetry at events and festivals around the UK such as Bestival, Green Man Festival and Poetry International. My poetry has also been published in a number of anthologies and magazines, some can be found online and some in bookshops. When I'm not writing or performing, I'm teaching English and facilitating workshops on spoken word poetry.

In 2011 I co-founded The Patchwork Paper (www.patchworkpaper.co.uk), an online magazine that publishes poetry, prose, illustration and photography.Follow @patchworkpaper to find out more.

  • Hi Sophie, thanks for adding me. I'm hosting a monthly Scratch night at Hackney Attic if you have anything in development you'd like to try out. The line up for our launch night last week was great so we're hoping to keep the standard really high for out next event in April.
