Rowan has lots of ideas and not enough time!

I'm passionate about film production, visual art, and critical and creative writing. I also work as a graphic designer, researcher and archivist, and assistant photography lecturer.

I worked on a number of short films in camera and lighting roles, before making my producerial debut in Summer 2010 with 'Strange Places', directed by Alasdair Bayne. The film was nominated for a Bafta Scotland New Talent Award, and awards for Best Editing and Best Drama. At present I'm developing another short film script for production in the summer. Watch this space!

In my art practice, I'm fascinated by the role that the photograph plays in the processes of memory. My ongoing project 'this is what creates every adventure' uses storytelling, found photographs, and installation work to investigate the relationship between people and photographs. The project was selected for 'Futureproof: New Photography in Scotland' at Streetlevel Photoworks in Glasgow. The project continues and is documented at thisiswhatcreateseveryadventure.co.uk.
