Frequency 'A Film For Dubstep' (Short Version)

The Motion Dance Collective Presents: Dubstep dance meets short film in “Frequency” – a collaboration between The Motion Dance Collective and Dancer, Chase Willoughby. The film combines video and dance to create a story of a scientist, whose experiment goes haywire when the lab is broken into, and two hearing-test patients are exposed to a very new sound. Frequency is a very exciting and original Dubstep dance short, inspired by song “Gonna be sick” by Beardyman. The work is devised in collaboration with Just Josh Media, Abe Buckoke and Chike Neman-Chalk. About me

Hey people,

My name is Omari Carter and I am the founder and artistic director of Screendance production company, The Motion Dance collective and have been independently choreographing, performing and teaching dance within hip hop culture for the last 8 years. I am passionate about furthering my own practice of Screendance, through ever-growing collaborations with filmmakers, dancers and other interdisciplinary creatives.

From my experiences in hip hop and contemporary dance and being both in front and behind the camera, has led me down new paths of creativity, some of which include choreography and performances for the Weetabix "Dancer" Advert, and music video "Turn Me Up Some" by Stanton Warriors.

Currently working as a performer in the West End production of 'Stomp!', I also work as a filmmaker for BCTV, the fresh new youtube channel for hip hop festival, Breakin' Convention at Sadler's Wells Theatre.
