Elizabeth Holly Hurt is a stop motion animator, artist and designer based in Yorkshire. In 2010 she completed a degree in Design for Performance at Wimbledon College of Art, with First Class Honours, specialising in short film making.
Since graduating she has worked as a Theatre Production Assistant, a freelance music video director and animator. In 2011 she co-founded enJoy film, a stop motion animation partnership with Bob de Broise (enjoy-film.com). Their ethos is to create visually driven hand-crafted films and to preserve traditional methods of animation. They recieved the IdeasTap Innovators fund for their first film, have made 7 animations in total and have had their work screened at events across the UK and Ireland.
Elizabeth is interested in non-verbal storytelling and questioning the importance of it’s communication to an audience, in exploring surreal themes and aesthetics, and in the therapeutic nature and processes of creating. In her spare time Elizabeth edits music videos for London based band, Evokateur, paints and designs and makes woollen accessories, and has recently opened an online shop to sell her Woolly Holly Collection: etsy.com/shop/WoollyHolly
