About me

Elizabeth Holly Hurt is a stop motion animator, artist and designer based in Yorkshire. In 2010 she completed a degree in Design for Performance at Wimbledon College of Art, with First Class Honours, specialising in short film making. She is interested in non-verbal storytelling and questioning the importance of it’s communication to an audience, in exploring surreal themes and aesthetics.

Since graduating she has worked as a Theatre Production Assistant, a freelance music video director and animator. In 2011 she co-founded enJoy film, a stop motion animation partnership with Bob de Broise (enjoy-film.com). Their ethos is to create visually driven hand-crafted films and to preserve traditional methods of animation. They recieved the IdeasTap Innovators fund for their first film, have made 7 animations in total and have had their work screened at events across the UK and Ireland. They have twice been nominated for the Independent Directions Award at the Leeds Young Film Festival.

Elizabeth has a particular interest in arts and wellbeing and the therapeutic nature of the creative process. She has recently set up a collaboration with Emma O'Rourke organising events to raise funds and awareness for health and wellbeing charities. (facebook.com/MadeInMindEvents)
