About me

I devise, direct and produce new work.* / I have many ideas. / I am developing my skills as a workshop leader engaging underprivileged groups in London through the arts.** / I have radical views I don’t see as radical. / I believe in theatre’s political potential. / I am an AHRC Scholar of the MA Advanced Theatre Practice course at CSSD, post-graduand. / I am constantly engaged in sociological analysis on the tube. / I was a philosopher before I was a theatre-maker – it seemed a logical progression at the time. / I was born and raised in South East London. / Theatre is a craft I am learning. / I travel. / I hashtag a lot.

* I make theatre with: unique spaces / immersive experience / true material / absurdity / humour / sound / technology / politics / photography/visual art.
I have a preoccupations with: the hyper-rational and irrational / subconscious / theatre that occurs in the space between stimulus and response / performative determinism: ‘like biology … you set up the system and then see how it grows, according to conditions’ (Julian Maynard-Smith) / the infinite variety/sameness of human nature.

** In 2013 I co-organised and co-led a two-week devising workshop with Che Walker for Clean Break and Only Connect participants, culminating in an hour-long performance of their work: Heartache of My Eyes: Everyday Stories of Addict Folk in King’s Cross (documentary below). I am currently assisting Green Shoes Arts ‘Creativity for Life’ sessions for adults with disabilities and mental health issues in Barking & Dagenham; and have previously run drama workshops for BTEC Drama students at Walworth Academy.
