Through still imagery and video work, ‘Nala/Olympia’ tells the history of a female patient and her progress in psychotherapy. Focusing on the idea that dreams act as a map to the unconscious mind, this series uses dream material that suggests to us the patient’s reasons for seeking help and how the phenomenon of transference affects the process of therapy. ‘Nala/Olympia’ is an open-ended narrative; it draws no conclusions, but instead leaves us to make our own assumptions as to how the patient’s dreams may be interpreted.
