Mobilise: Outdoors Winner

Mobilise: Outdoors Winner

Drumroll, please – we're announcing the first ever winner of our new photography & film brief, Mobilise. It's a historic moment…

Our monthly brief, Mobilise, celebrates our members’ own “bite-sized stories”, as seen through a mobile phone. Our June theme was “outdoors” and you responded in your droves, presumably scaling mountains, crossing deserts and swimming oceans to capture that perfect moment.

We pared your entries down into a shortlist jam-packed with some astonishingly talented entries, and then left the rest to you – giving IdeasTap users the chance to vote for the winners. We’re pleased to announce the winner (and overwhelming favourite) is Kristian Young, with his wonderfully framed Film Maker Silhouette, depicting a “DSLR sunset film shoot in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear”.

Shot on an iPhone 4 and edited using photo app Instagram, Kristian’s image is a brilliant example of the kind of spontaneous creativity mobile technology can produce. He’ll be receiving £100, and those of you who missed out shouldn’t fret – Mobilise is a rolling monthly brief open to anyone between 16-19; this month’s theme is ‘friends’!

The runners up, who each win £25, are:

Dream – Heather Allan
Dog Day Afternoon – Sinead Sharkey
Frosty Book – Billy Rowlinson
Morning Sunshine – Josh Renaut
