IdeasTap in Edinburgh

IdeasTap in Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival kicks off this week and IdeasTap are all over it. From a hub in Bristo Square offering tea, workshops and the chance to chat, to a whole range of brilliant new shows and even the odd spa session up at Fringe Central. So, if you’re heading to Edinburgh, check out what we’ve got on offer….

The IdeasTap Hub

Imagine a bright, dry, helpful haven in the middle of Bristo Square. You know, just next to that huge inflatable cow? Full of friendly, like-minded IdeasTappers, on hand to offer advice, support and cups of tea from 13 to 17 August. Well, imagine no longer because the IdeasTap Hub in the Underbelly’s Abattoir bar is forming the cornerstone of our activities at the Fringe.

From Monday to Friday, from 12-1pm there will be a whole range of exciting workshops and sessions, from an introduction to puppet-making and an actor’s career check-up, to your chance to meet our partners at HighTide Festival and NSDF. To find out more about all the workshops on offer at this year’s IdeasTap hub, visit the 2012 Calendar on our Edinburgh page.

You can also check out all the great shows we’ve funded this year through Ideas Fund Edinburgh

A Modern Town by When I Say Jump will be on from 1 to 27 August at 4pm at the Pleasance Courtyard.

Rime by Square Peg will be on from 3 to 15 August at 5.30pm at the Summerhall Dissecting Room.

We have also funded five new plays through the New Voices Edinburgh 2012 brief, an association between IdeasTap, Old Vic New Voices and Underbelly. To find out more about the plays, check out our winners article here or visit the Old Vic New Voices Season page.

Finally, we will also be holding a couple of great talks at Fringe Central, in Appleton Tower, Crichton Street, Newington, Edinburgh EH8 9LE:

Wednesday 15 August, 4-5.30pm: Getting to grips with producing

and

Friday 17 August, 3-4.30pm: Managing your online persona
