IdeasTap at the Bermondsey Street Festival
Last month, IdeasTap’s local street festival transformed Bermondsey Street in London Bridge into a colourful thoroughfare of the weird and wonderful. IdeasTap members were selected to entertain the festival-goers with performances on our very own stage and all along the street, too. We hear their thoughts and take a look at them in action…
“Bermondsey Street Festival was a great experience,” says Katerina Elliot. “The street was alive with music, dancers and various other performances. Performing at the IdeasTap stage was fantastic - [it] allowed me to play my own songs to a warm audience. I applied to this brief because it was an event going on in Southwark where I've lived my entire life and it was a good opportunity to get involved in an innovative community event.”

Jaimie Tullo is an actor who says he applied or the brief so that “so that I could perform as a musician which I love doing but don't get the chance to do very often. I had a great time, everyone was really friendly and was proud to have won such an exciting IdeasTap brief.”

A personal highlight for performance artist Marion Deprez was “crashing into the fashion show [which] was great fun. To see the fashion show audience’s reactions to a very pink pregnant princessy young girl is priceless. It felt like a true subversive experience which is rare!”
