HighTide: Our new partner
We are very pleased to announce that the lovely HighTide Festival Theatre has joined IdeasTap as our latest partner. It’s a match made in contemporary theatre heaven…
Frankly, we love Hightide. You’ve probably noticed: we’ve been flirting with them like teenagers at a bus stop for years.
Firstly, we gave Hightide an Ideas Fund Edinburgh award for their incredible production of Lidless, way back in 2010. Next, we invited them to join us here at IdeasTap HQ in Bermondsey, as part of our “under one roof” fun with NYT and NSDF. Then, we sent one of our members, Sophie Petzal, down to Suffolk to cover this incredible festival of contemporary theatre.
And so, it is with great pleasure that we can finally announce that HighTide Festival has just become the latest IdeasTap partner, joining the acronym-tastic OVNV, NYT, NSDF and BFI, along with Magnum Photos, National Skills Academy Creative & Cultural, IdeasClub and The Roses.
“IdeasTap supported me as a young director with their inaugural Ideas Fund Edinburgh Award,” says the Artistic Director of Hightide, Steven Atkinson. “The show I directed went on to win a Fringe First Award and transferred to the West End. IdeasTap means a lot to me personally, which is why I'm delighted that my company, HighTide Festival Theatre, is now a partner. Together we intend to give playwrights the career-changing opportunities that IdeasTap gave me as a director.'
“A Partnership with HighTide Festival forms a major part of our new writing development strategy, offering writers feedback on their work, as well as the chance to get that work read and performed,” adds IdeasTap’s Strategic Partnerships Director, Amanda White. “We look forward to running events and masterclasses, attending the festival and seeing our members’ work being produced by a company with such credibility. HighTide was the recipient of the first Edinburgh award and we are delighted to have been part of their journey to becoming an Arts Council funded, and to have been part of their success.”
