Member round-up: November
It’s not easy keeping tabs on all our members but we’ve put together an amuse-bouche to tantalise your creative palette. From dancing cans to moving castles, find out what brilliant things IdeasTap members are up to…
Katherine Jewkes
We met Katherine Jewkes up in Edinburgh last year and have been struggling to keep up with her hectic diary ever since. She manages The Arts Collective, a cross discipline consultancy specialising in theatre production, and is currently producing Howl’s Moving Castle, a magical Christmas show that fuses live action and pioneering projection. Find out more.
Ed Thompson
Photographer Ed Thompson was a finalist in last year’s IdeasTap Photographic Award with his series raising awareness for battery hens – and the last few weeks have seen his latest project go viral. He’s been documenting the Occupy LSX camp, collaborating with performance poet J.J. to create a photo slideshow that has been re-tweeted to more than 400,000 people. Join them.
Melisa Morales
Originally from the Canary Islands, globetrotting filmmaker Melisa Morales has also studied in Madrid and America. Since moving to London last year, she has become a regular face at the IdeasTap Spa and was one of the winners of our onedotzero_cascade brief for creative graduates.
Eleanor Turney
We’ve already grabbed a Job of the Week with her, but arts journalist and editor Eleanor Turney just keeps popping up. When she’s not at working at the Poetry Society, her nifty nib is penning and editing articles for A Younger Theatre, Guardian Stage and for us, of course. Check out her latest IdeasTap article about performance poet Polarbear.
Chris Butcher
Since wowing the judges of our Barbican Animate with his film about Sellotape, Chris Butcher has been moving from strength to strength, and creating animated characters out of everyday objects. To help him win the Red Bull Canimation competition and get featured on Channel 4, vote now for his latest creation – Inspiration From Emptiness. Tout tweet!
Howl’s Moving Castle is at Southwark Playhouse from 28 November to 7 January.
