So many brilliant films are made every year....on less than brilliant budgets. These films may spark the notice of some film makers, it may even receive screenings, but what happens after these screenings are finished? Where does this film find further incarnation? For poignantly-made, deeply resonant works like Bilal's Stand, sometimes even success and awards at Sundance do not guarantee quick distribution for a film. More than two years since this furtive film has faced the screens, it still has not found a home in any of the major (or even minor) distribution houses. Now, how is this okay? I ask you, fellow creatives? Honestly...how is this okay? What makes this alright?
