Figures obtained following a Freedom of Information request showed some UK police forces were failing to record more than 40% of cases. Rules state only allegations verified as false, reported to the wrong force, or recorded in error can be removed. The Association of Chief Police Officers said advances had been made in rape investigation but campaigners said women were being denied justice. The figures showed wide regional variations but some forces had such a high number of cases removed from records - known as "no-criming" - that critics said it was evident the rules were not being properly applied. Cause for concern In Northumbria, there were 382 reports of rape. Of those, 172 never made it into official Home Office figures and that was before any were "no-crimed". Police in Durham said only five of 130 cases had been "no-crimed" yet the figures showed a further 83 cases were never officially recorded in the first place. In contrast, forces in Humberside, Gloucestershire, and Northamptonshire recorded at least 90% of cases for investigation. Northern Constabulary, which covers the Highlands, Western Isles...

She can be seen going around different areas of London "collecting" victims of rape or other people affected by it and they all join in on the sequence. Overseas locations (Possibly Congo...

About me

‘Surmonter’ is french for 'to overcome'. It aims to be a piece of theatre that entertains and educates its audience. The project’s intentions are to involve Rape and Sexual Abuse victims and their families by leading dance workshops that are very much based around their experiences. They will workshop their dance and then perform in ‘Surmonter’ the theatre show. ‘Surmonter’ is open to all performers who want to support the topic and be actively involved. I intend to get professional singers/dance companies in to make the evening more accessible and entertaining for the general public. Although the topic may be deemed heavy it is vital to get support from the general public but especially anyone who can help lift this project off the ground. As a rape victim myself I was shocked by the responses I got from my friends and how people seemed unable to open themselves up to the topic. This is why so many victims do not report or speak about rape, they feel embarrassed and ashamed when any other violent attack victim does not. Society still silently holds some blame on victims. In this modern day this should not be the case and this is the main reason why 'Surmonter' is so important. Dance and theatre is a more subtle way to express victims feelings without it being too in the audiences face. I aim to produce a theatre performance that can be enjoyed but mostly gets the audience thinking and talking. Because when people communicate it gets easier to overcome.
