My first novel 'The Good Son' will be out April 2015 with Salt Publishing.

My short fiction has been published in the New Century New Writing, Rattle Tales 2 & 3 and Unbraiding the Short Story anthologies. They have also appeared in Harrington’s Fiction Journal, Flash Flood Journal, The Stinging Fly and been commissioned by BBC Radio 4. I've read my work alongside Booker shortlisted David Nicholls on BBC Radio 5 and at National Flash Fiction Day, the Dartington Intrigue Festival, Word Factory, Brighton Festival, Belfast Book Festival with Colin Barrett, The International Conference on the Short Story in Vienna and the Cork International Short Story Festival. I'm currently working on a linked short story collection.

I'm the Director of the London Short Story Festival and Creative Director of Word Factory the UK's leading short story literary salon. I have successful blog for writers where he has interviewed authors including Alison Moore, Kevin Barry and George Saunders.

I began by writing for theatre and my plays were performed around Ireland and the UK. I co-founded the Armada Theatre Festival in Belfast, Derry and Dublin and brought it to the International Festival of Theatre in Gdansk, Poland.

I wrote comedy shows that were performed in London's West End and at the Edinburgh Festival.

I've taught creative writing workshops for institutions including the Hampstead Theatre, the Tricycle Theatre, the British Library, the Barbican Centre, Spread the Word Writers Centre in Melbourne and have just completed his second 3 month writing residency in London schools.
