About me

Why, hello.

My name is Odinn and I'm a composer, song-writer and music producer currently based in London. Originally from Iceland, I've lived in England most of my life but I hold on to my Nordic heritage proudly. Mostly by drinking, being optimistic and positive and handling my money very badly. They might be all related somehow but I can't crack that code.

I've been in and out of lots of different bands since my early teens and I currently still play live but my main output and source of musical work comes from composing for film and theatre. I've scored for various performances that have been taken to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, including Reptile House's 'Squirrel Party' (2011) and Flyaway Theatre's 'Howling Moon' and 'The Rabbit and the Rose' (2011 and 2012 respectively). I was also asked to compose the music for two Jacobean plays for Professor Michael Cordner at the University of York: Thomas Middleton's 'A Mad World, My Masters!' (2011) and John Marston's 'The Dutch Courtesan' (2013).

I'm a keen thinker and problem solver and I have a BA in Philosophy. As well as this I'm also a very avid film lover and I have an MA in Digital Film and Television Production. I wrote, directed and scored a short film called 'Amusia' where a music student hallucinates music as though it's a self-aware soundtrack to his life. As well as working hard on composing the music for it, I also edited, sound-mixed and colour graded it myself. I've had several jobs since graduating doing video editing and it's something I enjoy with a lot of passion. Putting together moving images to form a story like piecing together a puzzle is oddly titillating.
