About me

Quirksome Theatre is a growing company of actors, directors and theatre-makers based in Nottingham. We are committed to making entertaining, engrossing fringe theatre, providing a bohemian retreat in unusual performance venues. Founded in December 2010 by a trio of young Nottingham theatre types, the company has continued to mount successful productions, as well as an ambitious and exciting theatre writing project: Act 2.

We specialize in comedy drama, both classical and modern, and our choices of text are becoming increasingly eccentric, hence 'Quirksome'.   • Hi all,
    It's been a while since we've been on IdeasTap (oops) and my, hasn't it grown.
    In the time since were last here we have produced a series of short plays by Anton Chekhov and started on our new writing project ACT2. We've worked with new actors, directors and creatives - some of whom have joined our network! (thanks!) We have a show coming up next weekend - The Ugly One by Marius von Mayenburg - and a new ACT2 in February.
    We are planning to use IdeasTap more this year (consider it a New Year's resolution) so expect to here more from us!!

  • AUDITIONS ANNOUNCED!

    We will be holding auditions on Monday 10th January 2011 at Cape Bar in Nottingham City Centre from 3pm until 8pm, although you wont need to be there for all of that! We are hoping that auditions will take around 30 minutes per actor as we want to get a feel for who you are.

    Before coming to audition we will ask you which part you want to try for and send you an excerpt to perform for us. Notts in Theatre aim to produce a relaxed atmosphere in which to get the best out of you so wear what you feel most comfortable in and try to get a good grasp of the piece. If we ask you to perform a piece for another part, don't panic! We just want to see what else you're capable of.

    To request an audition and to get a copy of the pieces send a request e-mail to nottsintheatre@live.co.uk with "Audition Request" as the subject line.
