I've just finished a masters at Birkbeck College in Latin American Cultural Studies. I wrote my dissertation on the figure of the adolescent girl in Mexican cinema. Before that, I studied Spanish and French at the University of Cambridge and spent my year abroad in Venezuela teaching children to read music and play the violin in El Sistema, Venezuela's nationwide music program for children and young adults. Alongside my academic studies in Latin American film and literature, this is where I developed a curiosity for Latin American, its quirks and charms, but really, I'm interested in all culture and the way in which it can be explored through film.

I am also interested in women's issues, the representation of women in film and women in the film industry and the arts more broadly. Having worked in several film festivals during my masters, I would love to move into film curation and programming, with a view to setting up my own film festival, one day...
