'Pitch-perfect performance' - BroadwayBaby
'Able - physically and vocally... there are some very evocative moments here in a kind of physicalised dreamscape. The performers use the space well and gel well together. They create harshness and tenderness within moments of each other. They are full on throughout.' - Fringe Review
'The acting was phenomenal on all parts but I must mention... Natalia Biglou (Juliet), who proves that seasoned roles can be trusted in the hands of young and perhaps green actors and actresses ... it was such a treat to watch' - Whats On The Fringe
MA student in APPLIED THEATRE at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I graduated from King's College London with a degree in Law. Despite being awarded a pupillage at a prestigious London chambers, I have been pursuing a career in performance and have trained at both LAMDA and Mountview. I have worked at theatres in London, including the Albany and the Arcola Theatre, where I ran drama workshops for the Arcola Youth Theatre. I am also part of the Soho Theatre Comedy-Lab, where I write and perform my own sketches.
I have recently formed my own theatre company, Chimaera. We are fascinated with exploring how the intimate, familiar world of consciousness fuses with the bizarre, absurd and curious world of our dreams. We believe the most powerful way to do this is through our home-grown combination of intimate storytelling, original music, physical theatre, multilingualism and playful interactivity.
Our play, 'Snooze' is our inaugural theatre production. We took it up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on the 1st-8th of August 2013, and it debuted at the City Cafe.
'Snooze' is a bold exploration into the spaces the mind inhabits when consciousness isn’t watching. Dreams collected from a workshop series funded by TakeArt Ltd and O2 Think Big inform the storytelling.
Below is a 4* review from ThreeWeeks:
'The Circus of Dreams is surreal, mysterious yet strangely magnetic. The Ringmaster, Dolly and Ariel invite you into the Circus as both a spectator and an employee. Interestingly the action is informed by actual dreams collected in a series of workshops, adding an element of truth, importance and intrigue to the action. Following this vein, the show takes on the form of a dream: confusing, ever ungraspable yet enthralling and all-consuming. The acting is truly brilliant with sincere, believable improvisation and playful interaction with the audience. Chimaera Theatre have combined those two essentials- an intriguing concept and a spectacular cast- into one wonderful show. The Circus of Dreams awaits your arrival.'
We were also received well by BroadwayBaby and were listed as a 'Recommended Show' by Fringe Review:
'Matching the fluidity of a dreaming mind, scenes bend and transform so effortlessly it’s almost impossible to look away.' - BroadwayBaby
'Prepare to watch, to be included and involved, to interact, to promenade and to be disturbed. Prepare to smile but also to be somewhat bemused. Recommended for the energy, the invention and the heartfull oomph of the trio of performers and their supporting musicians.' - Fringe Review
