About to finish my BA course at Goldsmiths, University of London, studying Theatre and Performance, I am a writer, director and actor with a passion for the power of theatre. It is the medium I am comfortable in and in which I can feel, tell and experience stories best. I am particularly invested in the power of theatre to change and also interested in the power change can have on theatre. I hope to be able to elicit change, both on the individual with theatre and also within modern British theatre itself. I am passionate about giving people voices, in particular those who are not readily listened to or have no outlet for those voices anywhere else. Currently, in my writing and directing, I am primarily engaged with this in relation to young people and the validity of what, as a generation the voices within that are. Also, as an actor, I have just finished an astounding and revelatory process of creating a show with the Tricycle Theatre's Young Company (a blog of mine on the experience can be viewed here http://www.tricycle.co.uk/blog/ ). It was a unique process that only compounded my determination to continue the fight to get young people's voices heard at a professional level within the industry! My overriding priority when it comes to theatre, however, is to tell stories; to engage, to challenge and to try and make a change - be it a slight, domestic one or a stupendous, existential earthquake.
