Collaborative musician turned wilderness guide, Laonikos has composed for all sorts of occasions, people, and instruments, ranging from solo to orchestral, from electronic to visual, from poetry to fluxus. He has a deep and passionate engagement with collaborative work in a variety of contexts, involving dancers, choreographers, actors, electronic musicians, djs, visual artists and poets, and also in the context of community work, in terms of collaborative/interactive music-making in schools, special needs institutes, and hospitals.

As a performer, he has appeared in venues such as Spitalfields Market, Stoke Newington Library, The Shunt, ICA, The Place, The Barbican Theatre, RichMix, The King's Place, and his living room, among others. His most recent collaborations include a score written for Angélina Jandolo's choreography "Aqueous Run", presented at The Place as part of Resolution! 2011; "or: love is not a photograph" at The Shunt; and collaborating with The People Pile at RichMix.

He is now doing a one-year course in becoming a Nature and Wilderness Guide in Finland where, alongside strangling bears, skinning wolves, sleeping outside at -30ºC and surviving on porridge, he continues to collaborate with dancers and choreographers around Finland, the results of which will be presented throughout 2013.
