I have numerous voluntary experience from teaching year 10 students on a 10 week placement to doing workshops with children and adults showing them how to use music software and hardware. I thoroughly enjoy music technology and have tried other career paths to satisfy me financially but I have found no greater joy in thinking that I can actually pursue a career in being a technician or in a similar field.

The bonus that comes with being able to assist in public events or productions are the people that you meet that make the job much more entertaining. I love the ever changing industry and how music or any performing arts for that matter can really help people feel engaged and influence people in such a positive way. My experiences within’ the field of music technology range from training programs in schools, colleges and universities to just simply setting up self promoted work shops inviting friends and locals within’ small communities.

I enjoy the demands that come with working in the arts whether it is with lighting, sound or stage management. I understand what it is to take things professionally and not personally – being in numerous positions where I was a technician for a School, College and University play. I thoroughly enjoy that each performance is not like the last and demands a lot of adaption and adjustments in order to adhere to what is needed at the time.

I use DAW’s frequently such as Logic Pro X, Reason 7, Ableton 9, Pro Tools and MaxMSP however adapt to new software quite quickly. I am fully competent with Microsoft packages such as: Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point and able to adapt to new software easily, other software includes Adobes Dreamweaver, Photoshop
