Please take a look at my portfolio and add me to your network!Creative ProducerSouth West / London "The best way to predict the future is to create it." Peter DruckerCURRENTLY PRODUCING: tidy carnage residency 2 - 20 July at The Bike Shed Theatre, Exeter.I've been producing theatre and arts events for 4 years now, ranging from mid scale, studio and site specific work to exhibitions and festivals. I have an excellent knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the national arts scene, regularly seeing work across my region and beyond. I am particularly interested in new writing, devised and cross-artform work and am most passionate about supporting emerging artists and young companies to create the future of theatre. In 2010/11, I completed an Apprenticeship with The Brewhouse Theatre & Arts Centre in Taunton where I assisted the Artistic Team, providing administration, programming and producing support. Whilst there I built on my producing credits with Krapp's Last Tape, The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe, Theatre Uncut and 1984. Since then I have been working as a Freelance Creative Producer and building up my relationships with other venues and organisations within the region - Bristol Old Vic, The Bike Shed Theatre, Watershed, Take Art.As well as working in theatre, I am also a trained Filmmaker and Film Editor and use digital and social media to promote and showcase my work. I recently participated in Watershed's Future Producers Development Programme, where 15 south-west based, up and coming Producers delivered their Fresh Flix strand for children and young people: http://www.watershed.co.uk/whatson/season/153/fresh-flix/.In addition, I recently sat on The Brewhouse Board Of Trustees and am the Secretary for Live 'N' Up, a youth music organisation which provides a platform for young people to perform their music to audiences across the South West. http://www.livenupmusic.co.uk/This year, I am also hoping to find a professional mentor to support my career development and help me to network and seize opportunities further afield.Through IdeasTap, I have participated in The National Youth Theatre's Press Play programme and was shortlisted for The Old Vic New Voices 24 Hour Plays. I have also attended a few IdeasTap Spa events.Follow me on Twitter: @kelly_lou_smith

Hi Kelly, Thank you for your message. Currently, doing a KICKSTARTER at the moment, please do check it out and let me know your thoughts. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1249928131/the-wilderness-a-feature-filmMany ThanksRebecca
Hi, Thanks for your interest, it’s a shame that you’re not based in London because I am exhibiting the beginning of my process on the 16th and 17th of May. It’s nice to know that others are passionate about the same kind of theatre/art I am. :) x
Thanks for the add too.The work works, currently. I'm writing for Nut Films [who are on this here very Ideastap somewhere] and enjoying manual labouring.I think if a maker is Welsh, Wales is quite good to be in at the moment. I couldn't say what it would be like if the maker weren't but I know that we Welsh get a wee bit of subsidisation from our gov. How's the South West treating ya?Thanks again
That sounds great! Nice variety for you by the sounds of it. I'm in pre-production for the short film I have written and am directing, called 'The Stuntman'. We're shooting in a few week's time so it's all a bit manic. But good manic :)
The new show is a mixture of old fashioned side-show stunts, true stories and my mind reading skills. Writing it is fun, but the practicalities of staging it bore me. But has to be done! How are your projects going?
Hey! Thanks, yeah Twitter Art is what happens when I should be doing production work on my new show, but it's dull... haha
Hi Kelly! No worries :) I thought I would get in touch and say an ideastap 'hello!' by adding you. I hope all your work is going well. What are you concentrating on at the moment?
Hi thank you very much for your words:) Well yes I have many ideas, but it is just about having possibilites but hopefully something will come out! :)
Hi really sorry for late answer, only just noticed your comment. I am really glad you liked it! You've got a great pair of ears! The house where we shot it was next to a very noisy pub, so actually all the sound(!) is foley. Guys who mixed it did an amazing job. I really love the song that was recorded for our film, check those guys out they're brilliant :http://www.myspace.com/dustcollectors . Yeah I like Lynch, also some 1950-60s Eastern European stuff was big inspiration as well. Thanks for all the good words!Ps. The length of my post terrifies me almost as much as its self indulgence :)
Hi Kelly!Yea i'm good thanks, slowly pulling things together for Prague and Edinburgh, I think it i going to plan though! How are you? Have you got some projects in the pipeline (I am sure you have more than you can handle!)
