CORRESPONDENCE was an exhibition taking place across real and virtual platforms, exploring how new technologies can promote the accessibility of the arts and change our idea of a public space. Sixteen artists worked together to make an exhibition at Prestamex House which was mirrored by a virtual version in Second Life. This version, which can still be explored online, ran in parallel but was not constrained by the laws of physical reality; the real exhibition also appeared on the internet in a second iteration relayed back by a roaming spybot. Echoing and complementing one another, the various versions of the show each have properties that the other lacks. We investigated these territories in the reclaimed office space that was the hub of the show, and online at www.correspondence-exhibition.com . About me

After finishing my BA in Sculpture I have shown work in a number of exhibitions in Brighton and London, notably the Rhizomatic show at London's Departure Gallery, and run a number of interactive and community events, including a workshop at Nowhere festival in northern Spain and interactive light display at Brighton's White Night. Last summer I co-curated a large international show involving 115 artists in Seoul, Korea, as part of a conference on MathArt. My most recent project was an exhibition taking place across real and virtual platforms, with a physical show and parallel virtual show. Check it out on www.correspondence-exhibition.com.

I love to write reviews that really pick things apart to find the odd dynamics in our society. I have a monthly column on theartblog.org and post my other work on katiemccallum.wordpress.com.
