I'm a Theatre Director and Dramaturg working professionally in London, primarily interested in new plays and new playwriting processes. I'm the Artistic Director of Fat Git Theatre (Winky, Specie, Uninvited, The Nose) and the Writers' Centre Associate at Soho Theatre. I also work freelance as an associate reader for Sonia Friedman and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. As an associate director I work extensively with Nabokov Theatre (Blink on UK and International Tour, The Best Years of Your Life (Watford Palace). As an assistant director I've worked with John Dove on Howard Brenton's In Extremis (rebranded as Eternal Love for UK tour), Joe Murphy (Blink for Traverse, Edinburgh) and Steve Marmion (Utopia, The Boy Who Fell into the Book). I also direct sporadically for a variety of shorts nights around london (OTB productions, (Descent, Theatre Uncut), Beestung productions (tales from the beehive), Flabbergast (voxpop) Theatre Renegade (Yen, Anna Jordan). Fat Git Theatre uses new writing and adaptation to talk about ugliness in all its forms, whether its through grotesques, opulence or rampant ideology. Or work is bold and theatrical, driven by what we think is relevant to the time but also by what we think is fresh and rebellious . We’re here to make people to think with a grin; all else is bonus.
