About me

Jemima is a photographer, performance maker and executive producer of National Art Service, a theatre company which she runs with writer Alan Fielden and a fluid collective of international collaborators. She is of Malaysian heritage, born and raised in Singapore, currently based in London.

Jemima is interested in developing the role of the photographer in live performance and studying the relationship between live culture and visual literacy. She is passionate about exploring the function of art within a community and its role in the wider development of our relationship to social landscape and education. Collaboration with non performers and fellow practitioners is central to her work.

Recent projects include ROOM (London), SUN with National Art Service, MTN BUSHFIRE Festival (Swaziland), Concertina for the Gods as part of Barking Dog (London & St Petersburg), The Promise of Touch as part of Motive Colloquies (Paris) and solo work Primary 1 (Singapore).

Jemima’s photography has been published on London Theatre Blog and used by publications such as The Times newspaper, Time Out London and The Guardian.

She is Photographer in Residence for Exeunt Magazine and Forest Fringe.
