Helping Hands is a House in Plaistow, East London and run by Brother Julian. As the name suggests, every day sees Brother Julian offering a helping hand out to those in need. He does this by providing a place to stay to the homeless, learning new skills to the unemployed or even friendship to those all alone. Through my photo essay I hope to show those who are fortunate through coming in contact with brother Julian each day. It’s this unconditional welcome what makes every day at Helping Hand with Brother Julian so very special

For me, photography represents neither a career nor a profession, but instead an emotion that spurs my creativity to photograph the conventional in an unconventional way. Portraiture is my passion and people are my inspiration. Human interaction, emotion and representation are all unique to the subject and to the photographer taking the picture. Photography is a big part of my life, and I retain photography as my driving purpose in life.

    • Thats great and thanks for you comment, photography is such an addictive thing, I most spean 98% of my day thinking about making photo and what I can do next. Its really saved me at a time when I was medically retired with nothing to do. Its great to hear from other creatives who too are passionate about this great art.
