It was a bit of a slow show day for us yesterday as we caught up on admin (oh the glamour) and then headed off to the Fringe Fair in the afternoon. Along with other arts organisations, Equity, Spotlight and a few others we got chatting to festival goes all about who we are, what we do and what we fund. It was a great afternoon and gave us a chance to meet some new members, as well as catching up with some current members who are also performing up here.

The main event of the day was the Tortoise in a Nutshell Gala performance of The Last Miner, they performed to a full house of industry practitioners and producers and it was another spell binding show. We then tucked into a serious spread including home made lemon, butter fairy cakes made by members of the team, although a little wonky, they were by far the best cakes of the fringe.

The final port of call of the day was The Star Child – this was a physical performance, based on the Oscar Wilde tale, unfortunately as we were sitting so far at the back it was hard to see what was going on, however clearly a lot of effort had gone into the production. Fortunately another member of the team had seen it the previous day and thought it was excellent.

Today we have scheduled an impressive 5 shows, with room for more, first off is the award winning White… more tomorrow
