It's all fun and games until someone dies on stage...

16/08/10 at 12:59 — edited 16/08/10 at 13:08

Each morning someone kindly organises for us to be roused from our slumber by a variety of musical delights – this morning we had a brass band serenading us with Ghost Busters theme tune. Other mornings have not been so palatable and we now have a water pistol beside our window… Buskers of Edinburgh you have been warned.

After being driven from our apartment by some atrocious wailing accompanied by a guitar yesterday we headed for a romp up Athurs Seat to take in the incredible scenery and blow the cobwebs away. Then to our first show of the day - Addicted To Danger by McNeil and Pamphilon we chuckled along particularly enjoying a sketch on feminism and a warped game of charades, well worth a visit to support these up and coming comedians.

Our next stop was Frantic Assembly’s Beautiful Burnout one of most talked about productions of the Fringe and rightly so. This stunning production sees five amateur boxers training and competing to turn pro, the staging and choreography is incredible, and beautifully executed. If you can get tickets do, but we are sure that it will be traveling to London, so this will not be the last chance to see this production.

Our final call for the evening is a rite of passage for many festival regulars - Late n’ Live, this is can be where some festival gold is created with a selection of the comedians in town doing impromptu performances. Gold however it was not, we watched, as our faces sank into our pints, as not one, not two but three comedians died in front of us, the only saving grace was the compare – not the sign of a good line up! However if you do want to take your chances tickets are available here.

Today we’re going to put the fate of entertainment into the hands of Theatre Ninjas, the last minute free ticket app developed by IdeasTap members, and funded by us too. We’ll be relying on their ticket offers for most of the day to see what hidden gems they can present us with. We’ll be back tomorrow with a full report of our adventures….
