I am a materialist and I am not afraid to confess it.

Materials – raw or faux, rare or frequent, robust or fragile – lie at the heart of my creative practice. They provide inspiration for my designs and usually come free of complicated copyright issues.

I make things. Of various scale, complexity and purpose. I prefer to be involved in the process from the drawing board to the exciting moment when a cast is to be released from its mould. It is my modest opinion that the execution of an outcome provides invaluable insight that one could not have gathered otherwise.

I dislike 3D printers unless they have been tampered with to use chocolate. They offer too great a convenience and hinder resourceful thinking.

“Print is NOT dead if I am convinced so.” – is what I keep telling myself as the owner of a small print shop specialising in effects and finishes.
