About me

Gary McQuiggin is a non-fiction filmmaker from Shrewsbury currently living in Welwyn Garden City. He favours DIY techniques and is interested in artist’s film & video, essay films and home video. He has had work screened internationally at festivals, in galleries, on televisions and on the walls of a Croatian town. Thematically his films are usually focused on landscapes, places, music and are poetic and diaristic in an unobvious way. He has had work screened worldwide and has received support from a multitude of festivals, galleries and institutions such as the British Film Institute, Sheffield Doc/Fest and the Doc Next Network. In 2012 Gary attended Sheffield Doc/Fest as part of the Doc/Future delegation and took part in the 2012 BFI Doc Next Media Lab.
