Predominantly I am a composer, classically trained but with all sorts of other musical influences - East African drumming, jazz and Scottish folk to start with. I also play trumpet, piano, write my own lyrics, direct and arrange concerts and events. I feel very at home with contemporary music theatre and opera and this is where I am looking to expand and collaborate. My goal over the next 2 years is to set up a company, Ignite Music Theatre, which will regularly perform contemporary music theatre in the UK and beyond. We will support the emerging talent of Manchester, help establish music theatre as a valid and engaging art form, ensure that high quality contemporary work is available to audiences beyond London and ensure that British artists are given the financial support they deserve - keeping music growing and (a)live. And put on extremely enjoyable nights out for a wide range of audiences, including some specifically aimed at, or devised by young people.

Please note this is not Musical Theatre - nothing against it but others write it better! My music is intricate, not-quite tonal, often tuneful, sometimes disturbing, sometimes mischievous, sometimes beautiful.
