About me

I am a maker, collaborator, performer, researcher, facilitator and teacher. Based in the UK, positioned somewhere between professional, academic and community fields. An artist shifting fluidly within the worlds of contemporary dance, theatre and performance art. The manifestation of my practice moves to a constant flux, following improvisation as a movement practice, state of being and philosophy of life.

Artistically invested in process-orientation, conceptual ideas and the shift between performance and the mundane. Intrigued by the art of performance-making and the collaborative dimensions between people, cultures or disciplines. Blurring the boundaries between art forms by crossing, merging and creating performance work which can appear to be dance-like with spoken word, digital art, photography or sound design. Intentionally or accidentally integrating practices, whilst experimenting with simultaneous potentials for creative exchange and audience communication.

Continuously provoking an embodied perceptual balance and dialogue between internal and external awareness, through somatic mindfulness. Approaching the composition of the outer-body as part of a visual landscape, by sculpting movement and drawing the voice from multiple inner-bodies: the emotional body, the anatomical body, the spontaneous body, the political body and the quotidian body. No matter the discipline or the product, the process always begins from the body.

With a drive to connect people through art, I encourage opportunities for others to creatively engage with the world around them and within them, toying with the idea that we are performing every moment and dancing every day.
