Happy Kampers are two performers and multimedia instillation artists who 'set up kamp' earlier this year. We don't have a creative home - instead we are nomadic artists looking for the next festival and creative scene to embark on. At current our work is tent based but we are keen to upgrade to a dated, gets from A to B and does the job caravan. With a heavy Lo-Tech aesthetic, scenery and props unfold on the stage. Behind the disguise of glamorous campers lie two normal girls frustrated by the trivial and mundane within everyday life. They still go camping and they still like a good bargain, think Cheryl Cole in Aldi frustrated by her malfunctioning sat nav. Inspired by vintage trends the work aims to evoke a nostalgic reaction with humorously uplifting moments. Our work is technologically understated, topical, fictional, easy to watch, quirky and free of a linear narrative. It combines performance and instillation arts. Our first devised work 'Setting Up Kamp' includes 3-D illusion.
