I am a phonographer, composer and sound artist. I compose scores and sonic soundscapes for film, theatre and as artworks in their own right.

I studied music at Goldsmiths, specialising in Live Electronics and Soundscape composition. During my time at Goldsmiths, I composed and performed the live score for Jackass Youth Theatre's Finn and Feathers, which featured at Contact Theatre's Contacting the World festival in 2008. I composed the score to Benjamin Gwalchmai's Goodbye Grace, My Grace, performed at Goldsmiths in 2009. I also composed scores for a number of films made by Jack Drum Arts in collaboration with local children in the North East of England.

Since graduating, I have mainly worked as a Stage Manager for Theatre Sans Frontieres, a touring theatre company based in Hexham, Northumberland. I have extensively toured theatres and schools nationwide and to theatre festivals in Tunisia and Cyprus with four different shows, taking on a number of roles including musician, puppeteer and actor alongside my Stage Managerial duties.

Alongside this line of work, I have continued composing film scores for Jack Drum Arts, begun writing a solo album based upon the life of a fictional pirate, and performed at festivals in a band, Los Hermanos Cazadotes.

In 2009 I formed the band Sinister Dexter with Colin Simpson, and have since had tracks aired on BBC 6Music and student stations. We are currently working on a stage show, incorporating theatre, live music and live video to tell the story of mythical band leader Sinister Dexter.

In my spare time, I help run regular cinema screenings for Jack Drum Arts, providing young people from disadvantaged areas in the North East with the chance to see the latest films. I have also used the cinema equipment to run a number of media workshops, incorporating live and recorded video with live and recorded sound. I am looking to take this a step further and create a mobile cinema in a caravan. Powered by renewable sources, the cinema will continue to offer young people from disadvantaged areas chances to see film in a cinema setting.

I want to produce more work for installation, using sculpture to frame my ideas. I am particularly interested in working with natural materials and in remote environments, using nature to inform and house my artwork. I work with both archive material and live sound, using digital processing to create sonic ambience.
