• Hello my name is Clare Drury, i am 18 years old and currently studying at BCU, Birmingham School of Acting doing the Applied Performance (Community and Education) course. I have experience in workshop facilitation and working with community groups to create theatre for empowerment/development.
  
  In the future i would like to try freelance work, i hope to produce and lead community arts projects for communities and specific groups as a career. I have a keen interest in working with young people and people with learning disabilities. I am also keen to drive performance which can create social or political change, with my main skills lying in theatre making.
  
  I took at strong interest in acting when i began secondary school. As well as physical theatre skills, directing and teamwork. After achieving Distinction* in BTEC Acting i went on to study A Levels in Psychology, Philosophy and Sociology. These subjects gave me the deeper background knowledge that was necessary to broaden my understanding of community and society. I have a deep seated belief that the arts can have many holistic benefits and i am keen to create these opportunities for others.
