About me

Author of All Sewn Up and Chloë Tells You How.
I am a textile artist inspired by colour and pattern, particularly from the 1960’s. Using fabrics as my 'paints' and a needle and thread as my 'pencil' I use fabric applique, hand stitch and machine embroidery to create colourful pieces of art, crafts, cushions and toys, using textiles in a new and unconventional way. I love using vintage fabrics that I find in charity shops and markets, and vintage inspired fabrics by designers such as Amy Butler, Anna Maria Horner and Liberty fabrics. One of my favourite projects I do are my heavily embellished name cushions. I like to think of them as a piece of art which you can have on your sofa, it’s fun to think of new ways to display and apply art.
I enjoy cutting out different fabrics and putting them together to make a completely new design.
You can find my work on my website, www.ChloeOwens.com
