Hi there, I'm a theatre director based in Edinburgh.

I specialise in new writing and devised theatre and tend to make politically and socially engaged work. I returned to Scotland in 2010 after spending two years in New York studying a Masters in Applied Theatre where I received the Dana Fellowship for emerging theatre directors.

I am Artistic Director of pop-up new writing theatre The Village Pub Theatre, Associate Artist with socially engaged theatre company Strange Theatre, and Co-Founder of collaborative theatre project Scrapyard. I have recently worked as Assistant Director with the Royal Lyceum Theatre (Cinderella) and Lung Ha's Theatre Company (Un Petit Moliere).

Projects in development include: 'Sanitise' a physical theatre performance about sex and cleaning, a multi-art form event exploring aging and society with Luminate; Scotland's Festival of Creative Aging and 'Push It' a silly play on exercise bikes.

I recently received an Artist's Bursary from Creative Scotland to develop my practice as a director specialising in working with playwrights on new work. In 2012 I received an Arts Trust Scotland Award to develop physical theatre piece Sanitise. Earlier this year I spent four days training with international practitioner Liz Lerman, learning how to facilitate Critical Response Process which aims to create a meaningful way for artists to receive feedback on their work.
