  • WU TANG CLAN AINT NUTHING TO FUCK WITH!

    16/03/12 at 17:04

Our 1st brief launched, Brain Wash’s assault on the IdeasTap website continues in the form of an interview with IdeasMag. We sent along a few of our choice gang members to meet up with Nell Frizzell, IdeasTap’s assistant editor. Our representatives were Liam Achaibou, (our co-director and visual artist), Pauline Eiferman (magazine editor and organiser) and Joe Copplestone (writer, poet and general miscreant). Interview over, we were faced with finding an image to accompany the words. We needed the whole group in, especially as we were referred to as the ‘Wu-Tang Clan of film’ in the IdeasTap office.

  • WE'RE GOING TO NEED A BIGGER KETTLE!

    03/02/12 at 19:17 — edited 06/02/12 at 14:55

We’ve had contact from the New York office, our Editor Pauline has sent over a provisional page plan. The foundations are quickly coming together and we’re spotting the spaces to squeeze talent in. Structure is obviously important to any magazine, and we’re looking very closely at ours, exploring a number of different thematic agendas through varying art forms. Whilst looking at issues of modern filmmaking, we hope to find ‘answers’ through everything from photography to academic essay.
  • AND THE RESULTS ARE IN!

    30/01/12 at 14:42

The IdeasTap hive-mind has passed judgement and we’ve been crowned winners of the Anthology brief. We seduced the decision-makers with our vision for a magazine that celebrates the new breed of contemporary filmmakers and artists, whilst looking at our relationship with the moving image in this age of access to everything. Thematically, the zine will focus on David Cronenberg’s 1983 cult classic Videodrome. We felt that there are a lot of issues confronted in the film that draw parallels with the current state of the mainstream media. In this age of the Internet, we live in hyper-creative times where the ‘entertainment’ presented on TV can easily be rejected and alternative visual treats can be found. We want to look at this world of new creativity and give exposure to those providing the finest visual distractions around.
