I am a London-based actor and writer represented by Nic Knight of Nic Knight Management (info@nicknightmanagement.com).
I am absolutely dedicated to achieving success in both my acting and writing careers. As an actor I have garnered experience from ample stage and screen work over the years, as well as from my BA in Drama & English Literature from Royal Holloway, University of London. I specialise in naturalistic and psychologically realistic acting and have enjoyed performing a number of dark and psychologically complex roles. These include (but are not limited to): the charming deviant RP McMurphy in 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' at Greenwich Theatre; the emasculated, polio-stricken wartime writer Caleb in 'The Truth Untold' at Theatre Breaks Festival; post-apocalyptic London drug dealer Elliot in 'Mercury Fur'; and mentally deficient child-killer Ralph in 'Frozen' at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Over the last couple of years I have worked as part of contemporary British theatre company Out of Town Productions. For Out of Town, I work primarily as an actor (as Jack in 'Chatroom' at the Edinburgh Fringe 2013, Brighton Sick! Festival 2014, and Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival 2014, and as Ralph in 'Frozen' at the Boilerhouse Theatre, and at the Edinburgh Fringe 2014), but also as a workshop facilitator on our continuing TIE tour, in which we explore contemporary social issues with students through the medium of theatre.
As a writer, aiming to be published in the coming years, I have written a fair selection of plays, screenplays, prose fiction, and articles. At university my playwriting skills were developed under the supervision of such established British playwrights as Mike Punter and Dan Rebellato. I am currently working on having my most recently written play, 'Dílseacht', produced in London. I also recently began writing for new online magazine BIAS, which is due to go live in the coming weeks. My other current work in progress is my first full-length novel, 'Taking Liberty' - a tale of two Londoners on the run from their murderous employer, travelling endlessly around the country in their search for safety, happiness, community, and above all, freedom.
I am also a professional tutor of English Literature, English Language, and Drama & Theatre Studies for GCSE and A-Level students. I provide both in-home and online tutoring.
I am a friendly, confident and easily approachable person with a strong commitment to my work, whatever it may be. I am incredibly diligent and respectful in the workplace and personally have no time for laziness and a strong belief in working hard to make a living.
