I am a photographer and filmmaker, born in Krakow, Poland and currently based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I graduated from BA (Hons) Photography and Film at Edinburgh Napier University in June 2013 with First Class Honours and a university medal.

My practice revolves around the notions of the impenetrability and the contingency of meaning of the photographic medium. It addresses the gap between reality and representation. I often concentrate on female identity and experiences, reflecting on the postmodern ideas of identity as performative and fluid in relation to the de-constructive nature of photography. I am interested in how the concrete surface of reality and photographs relate to metaphorical layer underneath. I wish to enable the viewer to create new stories and correspondences upon the existing, visible ones and discover new visual identities. I am also fascinated by transitory states and the way the camera fractures reality and alters its spatial and temporal dynamics, leading to ambiguous photographs verging on the imaginary and the real. I work in different photographic genres (conceptual documentary, portraiture, artistic snapshot) and use unusual presentation methods to change the perception of the work

My interest in photobooks has led to me to setting up an independent publishing house Yukatan Press with my university colleague Jagoda Wisniewska. My work has been exhibited internationally, in UK, Poland, Denmark and Canada.
