I started writing poetry at in my third year of primary school. I found lyrics and rhyme very entertaining. In my fourth year I read my first Shakespeare play, Mid-Summer Night's Dream, and discovered that I had a love for literature.
In secondary school, I swapped my Art work for English, ensuring my friends attained good grades, and I avoided detention by not completing my home work. In year nine I was entered for a London teenage slam and was fortunate to become captain of my team.
Since then, I have been working with a number of arts organizations, within schools, which aim to build bridges within ethnic minorities via the arts.
I went on to study at Greenwich University and have achieved a Ba in Creative Writing and Philosophy. worked in a secondary school as a behavioral mentor for two years, and found that I am happiest when working with and inspiring young people.
The School Yard, is my latest project. It is currently a blog/story which is used as a platform for young people to come and share/explore similar issues or ideas. I aim to develop it into a media productioon
I have been awarded Black Role model 2010 (Growing Up Black Project)
I have also won a Princess Diana memorial Award for my work within my local communtiy.
