Calling out to all London-based Theatre Professionals!

02/10/13 at 12:04

Bunbanter’s Young Theatre Company is looking for visitors - could you help our young theatre company by passing on your skills and sharing your creative wisdom?

Each term our Young Theatre Company invites a number of industry professionals to visit for one of our Saturday afternoon sessions in Ealing, West London. All our visitors are specialists in their fields and after observing the first half of our session, each either delivers a practical workshop and/or a Question and Answer session, for the second half of our allotted time that week. This allows our group to explore the huge number of creative processes and techniques used by those working in the industry, as well as developing their understanding of the many different career paths and opportunities found within the UK Arts Scene.

ABOUT US: Our Young Theatre Company exists to challenge and inspire young people, encouraging them to explore the diversity of theatre and the arts in a creative and safe environment, regardless of personal circumstance. As with all our work, the projects we undertake and focus for the year will be ever-developing, as we respond to our current student's needs but currently we are exploring the many different types of abstract and physical theatre. Towards the second half of the Autumn Term, the group will collectively decide a project/play/piece to start working on, for a possible public performance in January; it is likely to be New Writing. Bunbanter’s Young Theatre Company started in September 2013 and meets for 2 ½ hours weekly, during term time. The group is open to participants aged between 16 and 23 years, and is led by our Artistic Director Ali Anderson-Dyer.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER: All our visitors will be well looked after and (although we are unable to offer payment as yet) we will cover your expenses and offer tea and some very nice cake as an extra attraction! At the moment our group number is fairly small but we’re growing all the time and hope to be able to offer future payment and re-occurring visits to those willing to give their time for free on this occasion.

We are hoping to attract a wide variety of theatre folk from all areas of the industry; from designers, to technicians, theatre practitioners to make-up specialists - we're open to all!

So, if you you're up for share your specialism, in either a Q&A or practical session, please get in touch or pass on to anyone who might be interested! For more information on us, please see our website; www.bunbanter.com
