Ali trained originally as an actress with Bodyworks Dance Company and Drama Studio London before gaining an MA (Merit) in Theatrical Directing from St Mary’s University College, London.

Aside from her freelance work, Ali is also Artistc Director of The Bunbury Banter Theatre Company, which she founded in 2006. Bunbanter, as it is known, has produced over eighty radio plays, in over ten different series genres and their work is broadcast worldwide. Aside from their audio work, Bunbanter also has a thriving Education Department which is committed to making drama accessible to all, regardless of personal, financial or physical hardship.
