I am a social documentary and portrait photographer based in London.

My photography is a spontaneous, intuitive reaction to the ordinary; situating unconventional beauty in its natural, everyday environment.

I use photography as a way to explore the world around me. I go to places I haven't been before because there's an element of uncertainty and the unknown. The unknown makes me want to explore and understand further. I am a very curious person. I’m particularly inquisitive about people. I feel compelled to meet people and find out their story. I ask complete strangers to engage with my camera and myself in a very intimate and revealing way. I find the whole process fascinating and unpredictable.

Portrait photography gives me an opportunity to connect with people. I really believe in creating an emotional image. An emotional image is a result of that emotional connection you form with that person. It’s a huge privilege when people open up and let you into their lives.

I want my photographs to provide an insight that I have learnt is not always accessible on the surface. A photograph should give you a deeper understanding of a subject and allow you to appreciate something in a completely new way.

My images are all about truth and honesty - I just want to show what it is to be human.
