I live for escapism. I like to combine film, music and theatre to create immersive experiences.
I come from a background rooted deeply within the arts. It all began with the Bristol Old Vic Young Company. During my four years with the company I worked my way up from Performer to Assistant Director. Through the Bristol Old Vic Dance Theatre Company I became part of London based dance company; Dark Island Dance. I regularly work with them both as a Dancer and Filmmaker for various events, from club night to music festival performances.
But it was during my gap year I discovered the potential of what you can achieve when you combine different art forms together. I spent a week with Proto-Type Theater as a Production Assistant on a week-long pilot of a cross-city performance experience called 'Fortnight' which combined new technology with performance.
I also joined 'The Invisible Circus' where we put on high-octane immersive pieces of theatre in an old disused police and fire station. Simultaneously I became a member of the Watershed's Eshed, with an idea for a short film. That short film went on to win the Broccoli Foundation First Light “Best Film by Over 13s” Award at the awards ceremony at the Odeon in Leicester Square which was judged and reviewed by Paul Greengrass, Nigel Lindsay, Joanna Hogg and Iwan Rheon.
I continued my love for the arts, entertainment and storytelling when I came to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to do a degree in Digital Film and Television. By the time I graduated I realised that my passion didn't solely lie within film, but that I wanted to combine different art forms.
Since graduating from the Conservatoire I've organised a successful one off gothic club event that incorporated circus, performance and music called 'Nocturnal'.
Currently I am Assistant Director of the world's largest touring street game; 2.8 Hours Later: Survival. When I'm not touring the country with a horde of zombies I'm in London where I'm currently in the middle of my graduate diploma in Creative Business for Entrepreneurs and Executives with the National Film & Television School. On this course I'm developing a new immersive experiences business which I am looking to launch once I graduate at the end of 2014.
