My name Rory Devlin. I am a Director from Northern Ireland with a base of operations in London. Currently I am finishing my last year at Drama Centre London and I am about to establish my own Ireland and UK based theatre company.
During my time training and working as a director, I have made many discoveries that led me to gain a richer understanding of how theatre and film functions. By it's nature we are part of a complicit creative machine that won't drive without each other feeding into the central point of collaboration: the project at hand. My work has the company at it's heart.

My work has been heavily influenced by Irish writers, European Theatre Practitioners, Music, Brecht and Theatre de Complicite.

Previous companies and theatres I've worked with include: Lyric Theatre Belfast, BÉZNĂ Theatre, Etcetera Theatre, Central Saint Martins, The Platform Theatre, The Glass Umbrella Theatre Company and Amnesty International.

Ideally I seek to create work that is accessible and challenges the foundations of our society.

In my formative years I had a keen ear for music. I trained as a classical singer & musician in my teenage years. These skills have lent themselves well to directing opera, musical theatre and other based music projects. I have a deep love for the use of music in theatre.

I'm also quite an active Film Maker. I often seek short film projects that inspire and offer something to the watcher.

My time working and training has also provided me with the skills I needs to DSM any show. I have an extensive past working as Stage Management, Wardrobe Master, Lighting Technician, Fly Op and Box Office Manager. I am available for Deputy Stage Management work too.

Finally I have more recently spent time working on my own writing and devised projects. I have previously written and directed The Execution of Lady Jane Gray and devised a piece of theatre and film for Amnesty International Ireland.
