Writer, Director, Actor, Photographer and reluctant Producer.
I am currently working on (Writing and Directing) two main projects for the year. The first is a short film prequel to a Webseries called "We Are MorMor". The second is an Edinburgh Fringe Play called "Blood in the Mirror".
We Are MorMor is a webseries exploring the relationship between obsession of a fan and making a fictional character and situation reality. It's a dark, adventurous and sexy tale of Chris Moriarty and Stuart Moran as they descend into the dark depths of Cardiff and themselves.
Blood in the Mirror is a dark, yet humorous play set in the modern day, exploring the mind of both Murderer and the murder victims once the death has happened. It's an introspective look at our society, asking many questions through a fed up of life Murderer and his many victims. (Please note: There will be very limited-no light during the performance and that strobe lighting is used)
I previously studied at University of Wales, Newport and I am currently trying to make it in the real world. I am interested in the production side of both Film and Theatre and I aim to write and direct for both.
My Theatre interest was first reminded to spark during the National Theatre production of "Frankenstein". It was following that, that I tried to see as many plays as possible and it was during the National Theatre production of "Emperor and Galilean", that I was first inspired to start writing a full length play of my own. This play is called "Precipice" and was a very complicated play, that I have had to put on the back-burner for now. I will return to it soon though!
I am currently writing two full length plays called "Remembrance" and "Mixing Pot". All my writing tend to feature around either the subject of death (through which one looks at life) or sexuality (of which there is variety and often gets overlooked). In the case of Remembrance, it deals with both in an amusing, rollercoaster of simple farce interlinked with heartwarming (and occasional heartbreaking) truths. Mixing Pot is one of my only pieces of writing that does not contain somebody dying in it or have a death at the centre of the plot. Hooray!
I occasionally turn my hand to acting, often in my own last minute short films, such as for the London Sci-fi 24 film competition that one of these years won't go disastrously wrong... I was a member of the Cardiff Players, an amateur dramatic group, during which I was part of a 3-cast one act play called Albert, that made it to the Welsh Finals, only to lose out of going to the British Finals by a point.
