for part of my uni work i have to go to artists talks and blog about hem this talk was done by Emer Lynch who is an glass mould blower she also takes photos of her work.

i like some of emers pieces especially her piece called "pretty vacant dublin" which is panels of sandbasted glass with words on such as bewilder and astound and then they are placed outside on telegraph poles ect then she would photograph it and use that as her art. she would put the photographs in unused spaces such as disused shops she says " it was good to take a piece of modern art and put it were you wouldnt usually see it".

she did a lot of travelling and artists residancies one of these was in vienne she would look around at the old buildings and she noticed and liked the flow of light into the courtyards of the old buildings and used this as inspiration for some of her pieces such as stair and via. she also made a video called heightened  she made about 10 blown glass forms then put them in a spring called st. patricks well and filmed what happened to them this was an intriguing piece. 

i liked emers work and the talk was intriguing however i think emers was a bit shy or not use to talking about her work because ahe talked quite fast and she wasnt very expressive she seemed like a lovely person and was very good at answering questions so i would like to follow her work to see were she will go next.
