5D vs 550D ISO Tests

29/11/10 at 13:05

I conducted a test between the 5D and 550D with MG to see how the two faired at high ISO ranges. We ran the test with the same lens, a Canon 24-105 L IS f4, shooting one camera’s tests then the other from the same tripod. It’s not totally scientific, the focus is slightly off on the 550 in some moments, but it gives some idea of what the difference is between the two bodies. WB was kept the same.

Darks at high ISO seem to get a cyan tint on the 550, where as the 5 shifts towards green slightly. Not a great deal in it though, really. My conclusion? The footage from these bodies at high ISO ranges can totally be cut together. Good to know.
