About me

I am theatre director, movement director and writer (aka creative practitioner) based in the Midlands and London areas. Theatre interests span across Shakespeare, classic theatre, European theatre, Hispanic theatre, adaptation and physical and movement-based theatre. Within the field of movement, I specialise in movement and choreography for actors and productions through to movement and dance teaching for young people. As a writer, my work spans the creative field (incl. adaptation and prose fiction) and arts journalism (incl. review and blogging).

I graduated in English Literature from Lancaster University, and am a postgraduate of Shakespeare and Theatre from the University of Birmingham. I am currently training on StoneCrabs Young Directors' Programme ('13-'14), and also receive training on the Young Vic Directors Programme. In 2013, I trained on a 10-week course in directing with local and international director, Tracey Street, and with movement director Lucy Hind in workshops (NSDF) and through shadowing on HighTide's Stuart: A Life Backwards. I have expanded my theatre professional development through taking voice, text and movement workshops with the RSC, LAMDA and IdeasTap. Back in 2007 I achieved Grade Eight Distinction in Ballet (RAD), and have acquired the skills and knowledge of many dance forms along the way.

Recent Credits include: The Flying Ship (Movement Director, Popinjay Productions, 2014-15), Hewn: a Wuthering Heights R&D (Director, Bethumped Theatre Dance, 2014), Medieval Festival (Dance/Movement Practitioner, Elysium Theatre Company, 2014), Thirst (Director, StoneCrabs/Albany, 2014), Taming of the Shrew (Assistant Director, Time Zone Theatre, 2013),Titus Andronicus (Movement Director/Workshop Leader, Smooth Faced Gentlemen Theatre Company, Edinburgh Fringe/Buxton Festivals, 2013), 'Mercutio', (Director, Directing course, Old Joint Stock Theatre, Birmingham, 2013), Macbeth, (Assistant Director, Performance Research Group, Stratford-upon-Avon, 2012)
